PreBallet 5-7 years (Saturday)
Students should be age 5 or 7 during registration in July to enroll for this class. This class is an introduction to basic ballet terminology and movements and follows a traditional ballet class format. Being a PreBallet class, we allow students of this age to still have fun with music they are familiar with, but focus on tougher motor skills and ballet terminology than the PreBallet 3-4 year old class. This class includes stretching, some barre work, center and across the floor exercises and movements. This class is designed to give all new dancers the ability to easily transition into higher ballet levels.
* Stickers are given at the end of our PreBallet classes as a reward to dancers who participate and follow instructions. Three warnings with explanations are given to a dancer if they are interrupting, misbehaving, or unable to follow directions in their class. If three warnings are given to a dancer, they will not receive a sticker at the end of class and parents will be instructed as to how to correct their child for the next class. If four warnings are given to a dancer, they are not prepared for class and will be asked to leave for the day. It is critical for students to behave in class sessions so that all students will get the proper attention and training. It is not fair for a teacher to be focused on one child and their behavior rather than the whole class in being able to learn and have fun together. We have found that most children come to class upset due to lack of sleep/nap and hungry. Please make sure they have their naps and eat before class if needed and to use the bathroom for maximum class time.
Attire: Girls may wear any color BodyArts Dance leotards with Studio Logo. Girls will also wear pink ballet tights with no holes or stains and pink ballet slippers. Hair must tied up neatly and away from face. Boys may wear any exercise shirt with black shorts and shoes are either black or white ballet slippers. Hair must be away from face and tied up in a bun.
